Daytona State Baseball Hosts Blue Jay Academy for a Day of Baseball

DAYTONA BEACH, FL--

The Daytona State Baseball team invited members of the Blue Jay Academy out to the field on Friday. The day contained smiles, laughter and some baseball activities. 

The Blue Jay Academy is located in South Daytona and is a private school serving Volusia County children that have special needs. 

The Blue Jays and Falcons went through drills at the start of the day with hitting off the tee, playing catch, and fielding ground balls.

Megan Hober, the Director of the Blue Jay Academy said,

We are so unbelievably in awe of the Daytona State Falcons Baseball Team and their dedication to the community and our special needs students. Each and every single player wore their heart on their sleeve today and made a huge difference in our kids."

The day concluled with a four inning scrimmage between two teams containing both Falcons and Blue Jays.

After the scrimmage there was a group photo with the Falcons and the Blue Jays.
