Five Falcons Earn MFC Accolades

--Daytona Beach, FL

 

The Daytona State Baseball team had five players voted to recieve Mid-Florida Conference accolades. 

 

Sophomore shortstop Dustin Baber (Winter Haven High School)  was voted the Mid-Florida Conference Defensive Player of the Year. This is the first time that a player from the Daytona State College program has recieved this award. Baber will be attending North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC following graduation from DSC.

 

 

Sophomore David Maberry (Choctawhatchee High School) was voted First Team Mid-Florida Conference Designated Hitter. Maberry will be attending North Florida University in Jacksonville, FL following graduation from DSC. 

 

Sophomore pitcher Zach Bryant (Spruce Creek High School) was voted Second Team Mid-Florida Conferece. Bryant will be attending Jacksonville University following graduation from DSC.

 

 

Red-shirt freshman catcher Keiji Parkhurst (Clay High School) was voted Second Team Mid-Florida Conference. Parkhurst will be returning to Daytona State College in 2018-2019 for his Red Shirt sophomore year. By recieving this award Parkhurst will represent Daytona State College at the 2018 Fall JUCO Classic in Lakeland, FL. 

 

 

Freshman infielder Jack Nagy (Melbourne Central Catholic High School) was voted Mid-Florida Conference Honorable Mention. Nagy will be returning to Daytona State College in 2018-2019 for his sophomore year. By recieving this award Nagy will represent Daytona State College in the 2018 Fall JUCO Classic in Lakeland, FL.
