Bio

Katy Jo Waltz is currently in her sixith year as an Athletic Trainer at Daytona State College.

Waltz, originally from Lima, Ohio, completed her undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University in 2014 where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a specialization in Athletic Training. She then moved to Daytona Beach, Florida where she completed a yearlong internship with the DSC Sports Medicine staff. Following the internship, Waltz attended California University of Pennsylvania where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at a local high school and earned her Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training. She was then offered a full time position at DSC and moved back to the Sunshine State in 2016.

Along with her degrees, Waltz also obtained her PES certification from the NASM in 2016, is lifeguard/first aid/CPR/AED certified by the American Red Cross and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. 

When Katy Jo is not busy working or teaching at DSC she enjoys time spent at the beach, reading books, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and spending time with friends and family.
